It is always fun for me to talk to a Michigander — especially one who has written a book that puts a smile on my face. So I enjoyed talking to Joel Vernier about his funny and inspirational book, The Guinea Pig in the Freezer: Life, Laughter and a Little Miracle.

Joel is both a humorist and an inspirational writer. This book is filled with stories about his daughter and her amazing equestrian talents — and about the Vernier family and their love for animals.

The story of the ‘little miracle’ in his life helps put into perspective the important things in life — family, commitment, and finding the joy in every day things.
